A Cherished Friend with Lovely You

by Theresa Conway-Hayes - The Stampin' Bookkeeper, June 20, 2020

Today I would like to share with you how I created this fun card using some new products from the annual catalog. One of the new products that I am using is the Lovely You stamp set. This is a red rubber cling stamp set.

I will also be using the Tasteful Labels dies to create the label on my card. There are 10 shapes in this die set. You'll see in my video how I’ve gone ahead and cut out each shape so that you can see how large they are as well as some of the details.

Some of the shapes have embossed detail to them. The others have a stitched edge to them.

Today’s card is made up with two of the new in-colors. They are Bumblebee and Just Jade. I’m also using Whisper White and Blackberry Bliss cardstock. I’ll be using Just Jade and Bumblebee inks as well as the Black, Rich Razzleberry and Blackberry Bliss stampin write markers.

To get started you’ll need a Just Jade card base that is 5 ½” x 81/2’ and scored at 4 ¼”. You will also need  a piece of Whisper White cardstock that is cut to 3” wide by 5 ¼” long. You’ll also need two scrap pieces of whisper white cardstock that can be any size. I'll also use a piece of Bumble Bee ribbon that is 13” long.

I’m going to use that 3 x 5 ¼” piece of whisper white card stock to begin stamping a couple of the leaf images along the side. I’ll stamp these using the new Just Jade ink and pair it with the Mint Macron. I’m going to stamp with the three leaf image all along the side from top to bottom, leaving some space for the other image. Then I’ll use the Mint Macron using the longer leaf image, filling in the spaces from top to bottom.

Next I will stamp the flowers with Bumblebee and Rich Razzleberry. I’ll stamp the smaller flower in Bumblebee and fill in the center with black. I’ll stamp five of these. Then using the larger flower image, I’ll color 3 of those with Rich Razzleberry for the petals using a Stampin Write marker and the Blackberry Bliss on the bottom section. We’ll use a circular motion and not strokes for this process, then fussy cut all of them out.

The next step is to stamp and die cut out our greeting. I’m going to use “Cherished Friend” stamped with Blackberry Bliss. I’ll take the label die and cut that out.

In the video, you will see a technique to create a bevel look on the label.

Next, take your card base and fold along the score line. Then we’ll add the thin strip of Blackberry Bliss to the back side of the stamped whisper white layer using an adhesive of your choice. I’m centering this in the middle of the stamped side. Now we’ll add that to the card base with adhesive towards the right side with a nice border all around.

Next let’s add our greeting. Adhere adhesive to the back and create a faux bow along the back of the label.

Now add the label to the card with dimensions at the top and bottom and place at the bottom third area of the card. Trim ribbon as desired.

We’ll add the fussy cut flowers with glue dots around the edge and the greeting of the card.

The very last touch to our card is to add some Champagne colored rhinestones. I’ll use the smaller ones around the greeting and flowers using my pick tool putty ending.
